Chrome Paradise

Acrylic on Canvas
A study of Glassy Chrome Composition with one of my favorite flowers, Strelitzia nicolai. This huge Bird of Paradise can grow up to 30 feet tall.
Found in the Coastal Forests of South Africa, Sunbirds are their Primary Pollinators. The lower Blue structure of the flower is triggered to open when a bird lands upon it, revealing the anthers and thus, the pollen.
